The Prime Minister of Sitka (Esperanto: Ĉefministro de Sitko) is the head of government of the Republic of Sitka. The prime minister is nominated by the President and confirmed by the Assembly. In theory, the President may nominate whomever he or she wishes, but in the case of a disagreement, the Assembly can reject the President's nomination and choose its own candidate. In practice, the President consults the various parliamentary factions before nominating a candidate for prime minister, and the Prime Minister is usually the leader of the largest party or coalition in the Assembly. The current prime minister is Dan Obermajer of the Independence Party of Sitka.
