Sherman has a small resemblance to Pascal Curious from Strangetown, and his clothes are very similar to Goopy GilsCarbo's. Sherman's first appearance in Vincent's story is when Greg Chomsky invites Vincent to a bowling alley where the two of them meet up with Sherman. A few days later Sherman gives Vincent a call saying that Vincent's ex-girlfriend Samantha Hayden is trying to push her new boyfriend, Vincent's business rival Johnny Cullen into a quick wedding.
