The New Republic Infantry Army is the primary ground-based defense force of the New Republic Ground Operations. These troops are stationed on planets and space stations throughout the New Republic and are the first line of defense against attack. Infantry bases serve as the home for ground-based starfighter squadrons, and infantry technicians control and operate planetary defenses ranging from surface-to-orbit weaponry to the operation of planetary shields.
