Type Species: Lambdopsalis bulla Time: Late Paleocene; 58 million years ago Location: China Lambdopsalis is a species of multituberculate that survived the K-T mass extinction that wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. It is one of the more specialized members of the multituberculates with adaptations for burrowing. Its head is wedge-shaped and its front teeth have a sheath of iron. Its ears also are only able to recieve the low-frequency rumbles of the earth. A good example of its lifestyle may be some of the modern mole rats.
