The Firefighting Departament (消火部門, Shōka Bumon) is formed by trained and authorized staff recruited from the shinobi and kunoichi that use Water Release techniques (i.e. from the southern part of the village). They provide fire protection, technical rescue and the primary response to fire hazards in the village. The firefighters typically wear distinctive red and light yellow protective clothing, as well as red helmets and at their waists big axes.
