The Assassin was a heavily modified CR90 corvette, another patrol ship also used by Astragon. It was more streamlined and heavily armed, and it is slightly faster than the CR90. However, unlike the CR90, it could not carry any starfighters. The ship was armed with six dual turbolaser turrets, two quad laser cannons, and a proton torpedo launcher with ten shots. A group of such ships numbering about twelve could take on a Star Destroyer and win. However, without fighter support, the ship was left vulnerable to being outflanked, hence the CR90 had not been phased out.
