Veris had lived almost her entire life surrounded by warfare, including participating in battles both for and against the Chiss Ascendancy, as well as the Raider Wars and the War beyond the Veil. During the Extant War, Veris brought the Warhounds from the Unknown Regions in order to participate in the conflict against the Charon Dominion. It was later revealed that Boudika was a latent Voidborn.
