Truzillo was a captain-owner contracted to the Dendarii Free Mercenary Fleet; his ship was the Jayhawk. He was at the Dendarii staff meeting where Admiral Naismith discovered his brother Mark had stolen the Ariel. While Naismith went off in pursuit of his wayward brother, Commodore Baz Jesek convinced Truzillo to trade in his ship for a faster but less powerful new Illyrican vessel as part of a deal to provide weaponry to Vega Station.
