Shortly after he hatched along with Lewa and Kopaka, Pohatu found the partner Matoran and was sent to find the other members of his team. He succeeded in finding their empty canisters, and later the Toa themselves. He later travels to the Toa base with them. Not long after, they are attacked by the Makuta. Pohatu, Onua, and Photok hid underground for an ambush, which Kirka blocked, causing Tahu and Lewa to fall on top of them. The Toa ended up losing the battle.
