The River Vale Skeeters were a semi-professional team in River Vale, New Jersey. They played in the Eastern Hockey League for three seasons - 1939-40, 1940-41, and 1941-42. The Skeeters finished in last place in 1939-40 and 1941-42 and in fourth place (of six teams) in 1940-41. They played in the local arena which opened in 1939. They folded in 1942, a victim of gas rationing in World War II. The war also made it more difficult to obtain Canadian players.
