Chee nuts were a type of nut that turned a deep gray-green color when they became ripe. Around 18 BBY, the Jedi Knight Jax Pavan was aware of the coloration of the ripened nuts. During a duel with a fallen Jedi turned bounty hunter named Aurra Sing occurring around that year, Pavan noticed that Sing's green lightsaber caused the skin of the Gray Paladin Laranth Tarak to appear the same color as ripe chee nuts.
