Belatona was a city located on the south shore of Leona Lake and west of the Jiet River. It was renowned for its skilled craftsmen. It was the strategically logical next step in the Varden's campaign against Galbatorix after capturing Feinster. Feinster lay just outside of Surda's borders and moving on to Belatona served to get the Varden closer to the heart of the Broddring Empire in Urû'baen. The city was seized in the Battle of Belatona. The chapter King Cat later took place there, in Bradburn's former throne room.
