You can use this weapon to make a ranged attack against an opponent. When wielded by an iaijutsu master, the scorpion whip can do lethal damage, as there is a 2 inch long barbed blade attached to the end. Also, an iaijutsu master is able to modify his/her scorpion whip to also act as a spring loaded grapple hook, when attached to a 25’ or less length of rope. The rope, when coiled around the arm of the master, gives a +1 to AC without incuring any armor check penalties, provided the length of rope does not exceed 25’ in length. When the scorpion whip is thrown, while attached to the rope, it will automatically extend the hooks and coil around its target.
