Mewtwo's orphanage was a building built for Mewtwo's Psychic Army. He claimed that he built it to house the immigrants of the Mushroom Kingdom, but really used it to house his army while he trained them. However, people became suspicious of his true activities, and the immigrants were driven insane by the fear and brutality they lived in. Eventually, the orphanage was cleared out when the deranged immigrants were either executed or institutionalized. The orphanage was later re-opened after the War of the Elite. Many people were left alone and defenseless when the mob was eradicated, so the orphanage was used to house said people.
