Savrip was the language of the Mantellian Savrips, an intelligent species native to Ord Mantell. It was a difficult language to learn, incomprehensible to other species. The only way for a non-Savrip to learn this language was with the help of the Force. Conversely, few Savrips ever bothered to learn Basic, and even in those cases, they rarely spoke it.
