The 31st Annual American Music Awards were held on November 16, 2003 in Los Angeles. Sean Paul, in the Rap/Hip-Hop Category, was nominated but lost out to 50 Cent in the Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Male Artist award (the other nominees being Eminem and Nelly). Apart from the award loss, Sean Paul performed at the awards.
