St. Bonaventure's was a senior team in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. They were affiliated with the St. Bonaventure's College, a Catholic school in the city. Locals who were non-students could play, however. Newfoundland was an independent nation until it joined Canada in July,1949. They also won the St. John's City League championship (Boyle Trophy) an amazing 26 straight times until 1960. This league was run separately from the Herder competition.
