The Bolak Terminal is the main terminal of Kirov International Airport. It was designed by Kenneth Thorssen, a Saami architect who also teaches at Uralikan Yliopisto, and is roughly 150 000 m² in size. Thorssen, also an avid gamer, says that he garnered inspiration from several video games spanning different eras, and this has shown itself in architecture that made a couple tourist writers liken it to "something from a sci-fi video game." It is Uralica's busiest airport terminal, handling nearly ten million people per year (over half of Uralica's yearly intake) in flight, while at the same time being a tourist sightseeing destination because of its sleek, futuristic architecture.
