The Veras-class was a type of armed courier fielded by the Cardassian Union. The class was designed to ferry important personnel throughout the Union. It was equipped with powerful engines and powerful weapons for it size allowing the craft to evade targets it is not able to destroy. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 2: Starships of the Cardassian Union) The Veras consisted of a fat crescent-shaped command hull with a large central bulge that contained the engineering section and an aft tower with the bridge.
