Carly St. John was the acting technical director for Third Echelon during the Babylon Phoenix Crisis in 2005, and Operation Barracuda in 2006. She acted as Splinter Cell operative Sam Fisher's technical analyst, with Anna Grímsdóttir acting as her superior and regular technical director. Carly stood in for Grímsdóttir while she was on psychological leave of absence until her return to duty. In 2006, Carly was shot and killed by fellow Third Echelon member Mike Chan, betraying Third Echelon.
