The Federation-Gorn Conflict was a brief but bloody war between the United Federation of Planets and the Gorn Hegemony in the late 2370s. The war began when the Gorn launched a sneak attack on Starbase 11 in September 2375 and continued for thirteen months, until the Hegemony suddenly surrendered, with no explanation given. During the war, the USS Prometheus fought on the front lines. SEAL Team Alpha-6 was assigned to the Prometheus during the war. One of the major battles in the conflict was the siege of Cestus III.
