The 1982 Hampton Chevy 200 was a Busch Series event that occured at Langley on May 8, 1982. It was the first event at the speedway for the new series and its starting field of 17 cars was the smallest in series history. Jack Ingram won the race by one lap over Sam Ard, who still had the points lead.
