The Policeman and a female colleague arrived on Coronation Street during May 2006 following a complaint lodged by pensioner Keith Appleyard against Charlie Stubbs. Having carried out repairs to a leaking roof on No.6, builder Charlie presented a horrified Keith with a bill of £230 but he refused to pay and in order to teach him a lesson, Charlie proceeded to remove all of the slates from the roof of the house. Upon the arrival of the officers, Keith was annoyed when they took little interest in the matter. When Charlie informed them that he had every right to remove the tiles as he was the person who'd put them on in the first place, the male officer stated that it was not a police matter and advised Keith to notify his landlord and get in touch with the Citizens' Advice Bureau.
