Ancona was founded in 3E 992 by a conglomerate of forums, academies, and orators looking to distance themselves from the overcrowding and conservative rhetoric of Rhold. An infant compared to many Ulyssian settlements, Ancona has nonetheless distinguishes itself for its strong academic institutions and effective planning of its city layout and infrastructure along more modern lines. Debate and speech are held to less conformity so long as no speech violates the sanctity of order or criticizes the emperor.
