William Pennell (March 3, 1889 - September 5, 1956) was an American voice actor who was the original voice of Bluto in Fleischer Studios' animated Popeye cartoons, beginning with the first short, Popeye the Sailor. The role of Bluto was later taken over by Gus Wickie, yet Pennell returned to the role for the Famous Studios 1940s cartoons A Hull of a Mess and Too Weak to Work.
