The Bechdel Test, named for Alison Bechdel, the creator of the comic strip Dykes To Watch Out For, is a litmus test used to determining the importance of the presence of female characters within a media presentation. The test is simply based on the following premise: 1. * There must be at least two female characters... 2. * ...who have at least one conversation... 3. * ...about something other than a man.
