The Ibanez GIO series is a series of electric guitars produced by Hoshino Gakki, first introduced in 1998. The GIO series does not involve a single model or shape, but is a label of affordable products issued by Ibanez. Various Ibanez guitar series have GIO variants, for example, the GRG models based on the RG series and the GSA models based on the SA series. These are usually the most affordable of that series. Some series have been issued under the GIO label exclusively at some point in time, for example, the RX (as GRX) and AX (as GAX) series.
