Yoshi's Island is largely based on Super Mario World's Yoshi's Island "World". The graphics are very similar, yet enhanced. The music of the game originates from Super Mario World. In this stage is a slanted pipe facing left. In Super Mario World, slanted pipes face right and would be used to launch Mario across the stage. Occasionally a Banzai Bill or a fishing Lakitu will appear with a 1-Up Mushroom in the background. These also appeared in Super Mario World. In the background there are trees with fruit on them. These fruit could be eaten by Yoshi in Super Mario World.
