Mercury (the planet) has not been explored in detail, so it is impossible to know for sure. There is likely Mercury (element) under the surface, but the temperature on much of the surface is above the boiling point of mercury (the element). Solar winds are also constantly stripping away much of the surface of Mercury (the planet), so it is almost impossible for there to be liquid on the surface (as mercury (element) would be).
