In 2370, the USS Hera was caught in a trans-slipstream wake and hurled to a rogue planet in NGC 4414. The survivors determined their location with astronometrical equipment salvaged from the Hera. In 2383, the USS Challenger stranded outside a galaxy and an away team reached the rogue world through the Hera. The IRW Tomalak's Fist rescued the survivors of the two Federation starships and returned with them to the Milky Way Galaxy with the help of a trans-slipstream-capable creature.
