The Grove of Darkness Denied was built at Toshi Ranbo, in a square before the Temple of the Seven Fortunes. Trees had been planted in the place where a Kommei no Oni died in 1199, after the devil rampaged several districts. The Grove honored those who fell in the battle with the oni.
