Clause Elberg was a star fleet academy student during the 2250's from Germany. He planned on becoming an engineering officer. In 2258 he received the opportunity to temporarily serve on the USS Eagle (NCC-956). On the Eagle his friend Michele Tyler introduced him to a young ensign named Zach Banner, the three soon became friends.(Star Trek: Eagle)
