DC Roundsmith was a detective who was part of the investigation of the burglary of Audrey Roberts' house by Gary Windass (although he was set up by Audrey's grandson and Gary's rival David Platt). The break-in also caused David's grandad Ted Page to have a heart attack, who was house-sitting at the time. Gary was arrested, and questioned but released. DC Roundsmith also went to question David about his knowledge of the incident, but David lied that he had nothing to do with it. Gary went on trial and was sentenced to two months at Highfield Prison for the robbery.
