Jean Bureau (1390 - 1463) was a French artillery commander and siege engineer during the later years of the Hundred Years' War. He is credited with the French victory in the decisive Battle of Castillon. Bureau appears in Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings in the final mission of the Joan of Arc campaign, A Perfect Martyr and is also available in the Scenario Editor. The unit has the appearance of a Bombard Cannon, though with fewer hit points (only applies to subsequent expansions after the Age of Kings), lower range and less armor as well as pierce armor. Despite this handicap, Jean Bureau can self regenerate and cannot be converted as with all heroes.
