The US Presidential election of 2016 was the 58th quadrennial election. It was held on November 8th 2016. The Democratic Nominee, Hilary Clinton, wife of 42nd president Bill Clinton, and her running mate,Governor of Vermont Peter Shumlin, were elected as the 45th president and 48th Vice president, defeating the republican nominee, Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie and his running mate, former governor of Florida Jeb Bush. The main issues was the war the US was dragged in, the immigration policy and the recession. Clinton would go on and defeat Christie with 319 electoral votes.
