The League One match between Bristol Rovers and Colchester United at the Memorial Stadium on 27 February 2010 continued Rovers' remarkable run of never having been beaten at home by Colchester. Going into that match Colchester had drawn five and lost seven games at Rovers, and the 3–2 scoreline meant the unbeaten run was extended to thirteen games. Midfielder Jeff Hughes was substituted late in the game when his wife went into labour, enabling him to leave early to get to the hospital.
