Adolfo Celi (27 July, 1922 - 19 February, 1986) was a Sicilian politician who was the last President of Sicily (1975-1978) and the second Prime Minister of Italy (1980-1986), heading two Cabinets as leader of the center-left Social Democratic Party. He is, to date, the only sitting Prime Minister of Italy to die while in office, suffering a heart attack in Rome on February 19, 1986. He was succeeded by his Minister of Defense, Marco Pannella. Celi died during the early parts of the "Unifying Boom" his centrist economic policies are widely credited with helping initiate.
