Michael Gover (31st August 1913 - 2nd May 1987) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: as Detective Sergeant Bowen in October 1963, with a return to the programme as Mark Brittain Warehouse Personnel Manager Edward Pollard in May 1971 and during the latter half of 1974. His other credits include The Avengers, BBC Sunday-Night Theatre, Taxi!, No Hiding Place, The Man in Room 17, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars (in the recurring role of Chief Supt. Hawthorne), Softly Softly, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Doomwatch , War & Peace, Play for Today, Survivors, The Onedin Line, Crown Court.
