A unit is any object in Warcraft I, II and III that can be selected. Other kinds of objects are Items, Doodads, Regions, Cameras and Terrain. Units also refers to a sub-group of units, as opposed to Buildings. Interestingly, it can also be used as a subgroup of even that, as opposed to Heroes.
