Class R was a planetary classification for a type of terrestrial planet. For large-scale excavations on the surface of these planets, the Federation used the fissionable explosive plutonium ryanite. (TNG: "Night Terrors" ) For the remastered episode "Night Terrors", the list of explosives was revised. This classification was mentioned in one of the new entries.
