Completed in 2004, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo was designed to reflect the nature around it. The resort is made of natural materials, mostly local lava rock, stone and caƱa brava (similar to bamboo), as well as woods from Guatemala and Nicaragua. Unavailable in Costa Rica, marble was imported from 18 countries, including Brazil and China. Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica was voted 46th by Travel + Leisure's 2006 World's Best Top 100 Resorts Awards Readers Poll and ranks on the World's Top Resorts 2007/2008 by Zagat Survey.
