The Tablet of Hagakure was a black stone funeral tablet with the name Hagakure engraved on one side and the word Guardian on the other. Any who attacked an honorable samurai near it was attacked by a benevolent gaki of great power, the Ghost of a Thousand Hungry Eyes, most commonly known as Hagaken Mokumokuren. Every emperor kept the tablet beside his bed, and none that had seen the gaki had lived.
