The Crater of Needles was a work camp manned by the Menoptera slaves of the Animus. The project was overseen by the Zarbi. The task of the slaves was to feed the Animus by dropping vegetation into rivers of acid in the crater. Barbara Wright was taken to the crater by the Zarbi and put to work. (TV: The Web Planet)
