Adam Onegin (later renamed "Gavin" by his guardian and mentor) was the genetically modified son of a rogue UNSC black operator who played a key role during the Eden Conflict. His father sent him to be raised in a small colonial settlement on Reach shortly after his birth, where he grew up in peace for much of his early life. After the settlement was destroyed during a factional conflict, he was taken in by a mercenary who hoped to protect him from further violence.
