First introduced being teleported between a handful of largely uninhabited planets by Master Big Star for no inherently apparent reason, this seems to be where Gamzee Makara lived on Alternia prior to the catastrophe that was seen causing the deaths of the lusus of Vriska Serket and Equius Zahhak. Most likely, Gamzee's hive was teleported away in the same way that theirs were.
