Reichman came from a legislaturalist family. Holding the rank of Commodore, she was the commanding officer of the Ninth Cruiser Squadron, commanding it from aboard Captain Thomas Theisman's heavy cruiser PNS Sword, while on a mission to ambush a Manticoran convoy and its escort under the command of Captain Helen Zilwicki. Commodore Reichman lost three of her ships with another one damaged when Captain Zilwicki engaged her to protect the convoy, with the result that the entire Manticoran escort was destroyed but the convoy managed to escape.
