The Duke Of Abelagot is a human character that appears in the comic book story "The Jewel Smurfer". In the story, he is depressed because his son Geoffrey was missing, and so entertainment was sought by the senechal to lift up his spirits. During the story's events, the Smurfs were brought to the Duke's castle by two traveling entertainers, Adhemar and Godilot, and by a mysterious man intending to use the Smurfs in order to get his hands on the Duke's treasure. While the Duke was impressed by the first show presented by the Smurfs, the second show turned out to be a theatrical piece that revealed information condemning both the thief and the Duke's friend Ganelon, the man responsible for kidnapping the Duke's son in the hopes of extorting the Duke for money.
