Bernard "Bernie" Heinz was a registered sex offender and a suspect in the murder of Charleen Dowd, another suspect in the kidnapping of Jenny Clark. Bernie told the arresting detectives that he found Dowd alone in a hotel room. She was about to stab him, but he stabbed her back. He then claimed that his friend Dwight Jacobs tried to sell Jenny to him, but never showed up. He is currently in prison for manslaughter in Dowd's death.
