Tsek was a Trandoshan during the Old Republic Era. Sometime during his early life, he was rescued from a life-threatening situation on Nal Hutta by a woman named Lufayla. After this he worked as a slaver before retiring and leaving his business to his son. In 3,570 BBY, he encountered the bounty hunter Zyshak on Terminus and believed her to be the one who had saved his life. Zyshak remarked that he looked as if he had outlived the average lifespan for a Trandoshan.
