Charles Robert Simpson (1881-16 June 1960) was a lecturer and Labour Party politician active in the Finsbury area. Simpson was born in Yorkshire, and worked there for thirteen years as a miner. He subsequently studied at Ruskin College and was awarded a diploma in Economics and Political Science. He became a lecturer for the National Adult School Union and the Workers' Educational Association. A member of the Quakers or Society of Friends, He was nicknamed "The Miner Friend", he became a warden of the Woolman Adult Educational Settlement, Duncan Terrace, Islington.
